Chelsea Haigh has been singing for most of her life. Born into a musical family, she began performing with her sisters in Church and in Community Cabarets. She participated in the Board of Education City Wide choir, and the SWC Secondary School choir.
Chelsea began vocal and piano training at the age of 12. To date, she has achieved her RCM Grade 7 Vocal, Grade 5 Piano, and Grade 2 Theory. She is currently studying Applied Jazz Vocal Music at Mohawk College, and continuing her RCM studies.
Some of Chelsea’s musical influences are Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Kiely Smith, Michael Bublé, Edie Gormé, Josh Groban, Barbara Streisand, Louie Armstrong, and Kristin Chenoweth. She credits her introduction to Jazz to her late, great-uncle John Macdonald.
Quite simply, Chelsea enjoys performing: whether in high school productions, concerts, talent shows, competitions, ensembles, community theatre, or local senior’s residences. She continues to work toward improving her abilities, and her opportunities for success.
Chelsea dreams that one day she’ll be regarded as a Jazz Icon and/or a Broadway Star.
